Looten played through the 2012 season as one of the Banshees' star players, and one of the few who did not have trouble making the conversion to the MCCL rules set.
Looten was drafted by the Corsairs during the offseason after Max Savage saw merit to Looten's fighting style in their 2012 Corsairs vs. Banshees bout. Looten helped the Corsairs eliminate the Dragons' Dave Schneider from the board and finish the 2012 season with a championship title.
After the 2014 Corsair Mutiny, Looten returned to the Banshees in his favored Queen's Rook position. Shortly after the season began, an unfortunate accident befell King Edward Johnson, and Looten's promotion was unanimously agreed upon by the team. He led the team to their best season in the Midwest League, nearly missing the postseason with a 3-4 finish.
Trying to build on the previous year's momentum, Looten continued building his team, but he was unable to teach midwest fighters the style of his once-Rocky Mountain League team. Looten continued to embrace wild choices in chess strategy and in weapon choices by his team. That dissonance ended the Banshees with a resoundingly poor 2-5 finish.
Though he was unable to effectively lead his team to victory in 2015, Looten was still voted by fans into the 2016 All-Star Game for his combat talent and unpredictability. His performance was startling to some - many believed the Banshee King to be inebriated - but Looten still managed a solid win over new Phoenix player John Daniel.
Looten is recognized as one of the most accomplished double-fence competitors in the MCCL. He has successfully blended elements of renaissance rapier and dagger with the disciplines of kali and escrima and the rustic attitude of knife and tomahawk fighting. Adding to a variety of compound weapon selections, Looten has become known as one of the most unpredictable fighters in any of the national Leagues, keeping his opponents off their guard with strange weapon choices and odd chess/fighting tactics.
